Sanity by Essations Sensitive Scalp Mix Kit Relaxer is a relaxer formula created for clients with sensitive scalps so they too can enjoy soft, silky, frizz-free hair without the irritation associated with conventional relaxers.
A guanidine hydroxide relaxer that is formulated using calcium hydroxide as the cream base and guanidine carbonate as the liquid activator. The liquid activator is added to the cream base and mixed thoroughly to a creamy rich consistency immediately before use. This unique guanidine hydroxide relaxer mixture quickly penetrations the hair shaft and processes effectively without drying affects and damage common associated with “no lye” guanidine category. The tri-lanolin formula conditioners are being deposited into the hair strands during processing, adding protection and leaving the hair with more natural body, movement and shine.
Start applying the Sanity by Essations Mix Kit Relaxer at the nape of the neck, leaving the hairline until last. Distribute the relaxer generously by making small partings and applying the relaxer quickly and evenly. The relaxer should be placed approximately ¼ inch away from the scalp. Work upward toward the crown. Apply to the front sections. When application is complete, begin smoothing the hair in the same order as the relaxer was originally applied. Smooth with short, firm strokes using the back of the comb or the side of the fingers. Don’t pull or stretch the hair. BE GENTLE. As you near your time limit, check for straightness on a small section of the front crown area. If the hair looks straight and does not return to its original curl pattern when pushed in the direction of the scalp, it is fully relaxed.
When time is up, rinse out all the relaxer with a steady stream of lukewarm water. Check the nape, hairline, and scalp to ensure no traces of the relaxer remain. Apply Sanity Calcium Clearing Neutralizing Shampoo to the hair. Work it into a lather, and rinse. Repeat the neutralizing application two more times. Rinse well, and towel blot. Proceed to condition the hair using the Sanity Fortifying Conditioner, distributing it generously through the hair. Gently comb through the hair, and let it sit for 5-8 minutes. For a deep conditioning treatment, place a plastic cap on the hair, and put the client under the dryer for 10 minutes. Rinse and proceed to styling.
